Professional and Practice Development Unit

Welcome to the Liverpool University Hospitals Professional Practice Development Unit webpage!

Let us introduce ourselves and give you some insight into how we can provide support and facilitate learning as part of your professional development.

We are large, multi-professional team of educators supporting staff and students across LUHFT, including Aintree, Broadgreen and the Royal hospital sites.

The PPDU is designed to provide on-going support, to signpost and to provide direction and education for registered healthcare professionals working with us here at LUHFT.

By working in partnership with key stakeholders such as Higher Education Institutes (HEI’s), Health Education England (HEE) and placement areas across LUHFT, we continuously strive to develop and deliver education and training programmes relevant to multi-disciplinary practice and which will address the needs of individuals and professional groups.

We also provide tailored support for clinical educators and staff involved in learning and assessment in clinical practice of both pre and post registration learners, enhancing the quality of the learning experience at LUHFT.

We are here to engage, empower and educate you to navigate your lifelong pathway of learning.

Our service consists of the 3 departments below:

Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs)

Trainee Nurse Associates (TNA)

International Recruitment Service (IR)

Practice Development Nurses (PDN)

Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA)
