Support

Our Trust’s Medical Education Team is committed to promoting career development opportunities for Clinical Fellows and Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs). We will support you to help you meet your educational needs including opportunities to be involved in quality improvement/audit, medical education, research, or leadership/management projects.

LEDs are encouraged to keep a portfolio in the same way as trainee doctors. (This is subject to your clinical supervisors and departmental approvals) Portfolios enable you to collect evidence of competencies that have been developed during your employment in the Trust. This is an excellent way of providing evidence when applying for specialty training posts.

LEDs should receive the same opportunities as trainee doctors such as study leave, attending teaching, salary, supervision and access to support.
