The TNA Programme

The training to become a Nursing Associate is a fulltime 2-year Foundation degree programme with one of our partner universities. It is a combination of academic and work-based learning, with assessments throughout the two years. Placements will be on a 6-month rotation basis, covering a variety of different clinical areas, and some external placements organised by the university. Upon qualification, the Trainee Nursing Associates will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nursing Associate. 

The entry requirements for the TNA programme are:

  • GCSE grade C/4 and above or level 2 in Maths and English
  • Level 3 NVQ/ BTEC or equivalent 
  • Can work fulltime and commit to a variation in shifts patterns, including nights and weekends
