The PEF team are a support and liaison service, which links Higher Education Institutes (HEI), students and practice.

The PEF team consists of 10 Practice Education Facilitators (PEF) and each cover a range of clinical areas which accommodate and support Nursing and AHP students. All clinical areas that accommodate students has a PEF aligned to them. The aligned PEF for each area can be found on each clinical areas’ profile on PARE. Ward managers and Nominated persons will also have contact details for each PEF aligned to them.

The PEF team support students whilst in practice, help facilitate completion of learning outcomes documents on Practice Assessment Record and Evaluation (PARE). They also act as support for students who require extra assistance or have reasonable adjustments.

The PEF team provides workshops to deliver essential information required by Practice Assessors and Practice Supervisors to support students in Practice.

They provide Clinical Supervision workshops which is the predominant model of student supervision used by AHP teams.

They work closely with local HEIs to provide robust, 3-way support for students, PEF team, Practice and University.
